Cholesterol Impact Guide: Augmented Reality Application

Corporate | Healthcare | Tradeshow

In the constant struggle to ensure that people are consistently taking important medications, both doctors and patients need all the help they can get. To aid in this process, Balance Studios was commissioned to create an edu-taining mobile app that uses interactive education to provide vital medical information on the importance of statins in maintaining healthy cholesterol levels.

Doctors provide patients with a brochure through which they activate an app that engages them as they watch the information pop up off the page in augmented reality space. Using holograms and animations, the attention-grabbing app shows what causes high cholesterol and arterial plaque buildup, how statin medication functions, the risks of not taking it as directed even after the desired cholesterol number is reached, and facilitates further conversations about cholesterol health. Patients can replay or jump back to chapters to learn more about each area or pinpoint areas of discussion with their doctor.

To be more inclusive and to make sure this app reached Pfizer's full patient database globally, the audio and text throughout is available/translated into Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. Now patients across the globe can be educated through the app in their native language.

Edu-tain about the importance of using statin medications correctly.

Services

Our client partner has a strong dedication to their customers, which means we do too. Bringing important data and storytelling together is a powerful tool and we add a human element, albeit virtually, to help patients understand an often confusing subject matter. This dynamic approach to providing information is memorable, fun, and helps our partner stand out from their competitors. Commitment, collaboration, and innovation. Now that's good medicine.

The Result

Doctors around the world gained a new tool to educate their patients.
