Abe has never been so accessible. The Abraham Lincoln Presidential
Library and Museum wanted to better share the story of the fascinating
man who would become America's 16th
president and the storytellers at Balance Studios were happy to comply.
The creative team developed a mobile website so guests and non-visitors
alike can follow Lincoln's journey from boyhood all the way to the
Executive Mansion (later named The White House) and get to know the
lawyer, the father, the husband, and the leader who would become
president during one of the most turbulent times in U.S. history. Learn
about his modest life on the frontier. Meet influential people in
Lincoln's life. And, visit the site often. With an easy-to-update content management system in place, museum curators can modify the
content so learning can continue and evolve.
EXTENDED EXHIBIT CONTENT
With
the mobile website as a travel guide, visitors have a logical,
easy-to-navigate tool to explore exhibits such as frontier life, slavery, and emancipation. From the China pattern selected by Mrs.
Lincoln for dinner services, to the doll Lincoln's young son treasured,
get a deeper understanding through the everyday objects that were part
of the Lincoln family's lives.
LINCOLN QUEST
A
scavenger hunt without clipboards and tiny pencils? Yes, please.
Lincoln Quest is a robust, mobile scavenger hunt that is fun for all
ages. Structured in the same order that guests explore the museum, it
varies questions and levels of difficulty to really put learning–and
observation skills–to the test. Visitors can play more than once and questions are randomized so guests can play several rounds without
encountering the same question multiple times.
LINCOLN LOGS
More
than just a clever name, The Lincoln Log is a searchable daily
chronicle of the life of Abraham Lincoln. Select a date on the log and
read about what Lincoln had on his agenda at that point in time. Your
birthdate in 1861? Give it a try. See where he was on any given date and
get a deeper understanding of how our first bearded president filled
his days and spent his time.
