Friday, September 17th, 2004

Do you collaborate with workgroups and need to manage the cumbersome volume of assets, ideas, and individuals involved? epicsoft has recently released INSPIRE™, a web-based communication “hub” that connects creatives, administrators, vendors, and clients through all aspects of project development. Using a unique blend of ASP.NET and Flash-remoting technologies, INSPIRE™ is a fast & efficient, reliable & secure, centralized resource that is universally-accessible from any internet connection.

Balance Studios uses INSPIRE™ for correspondence, distribution, archival, review, and approval of all remote client projects — and the result is a steady stream of positive testimonials.

A Custom-built Structure for Corrigan’s

Wednesday, September 15th, 2004

When Corrigan’s Custom Built Structures discovered that their heavy construction machinery wouldn’t quite fit through the internet socket on their wall, they turned to Balance Studios for assistance in renovating their parcel of cyberspace deep inside the Web wire.

Balance went to work with teeny-tiny virtual diggers, cement trucks, hammers, and know-how, and built an edifice that Corrigan’s can be proud of. Technological features of the new Web site include the use of video, state-of-the-art portfolio galleries, and 360-degree virtual tours.

However, the true Star of this production is Corrigan’s’ wide range of quality workmanship — as evidenced by real buildings of all shape and size. Balance is happy to have helped them put their history of accomplishment on display for everyone.

Most Useful Lightwave Enhancement Ever?

Tuesday, September 14th, 2004

MULE is a network-rendering tool that enables you to render Lightwave® 3D animations or single frames across multiple computers. Gone are the days of being locked out of your animation system when rendering your projects.

MULE allows you to completely control the rendering process — such as determining how many frames should go to which particular systems in your network. MULE’s intuitive design alerts you of any interruption or flaws in the renderings and allows you to view the progress. If one system finishes its render and there are still more that need to be processed, MULE sends those unfinished frames to other available systems. All of this leads to efficiency and faster project turnaround times, which equals more profit!

At epicsoft, Inc., enthusiasm for MULE is contagious — it’s the latest tool they’ve designed to advance the business of creativity — and Balance Studios has used the product with great success.

Urban legend says the name MULE is derived from “Most Useful Lightwave-enhancement Ever“. Even though that isn’t actually the origin, if the shoe fits… !

You be the judge.

The Adventures of Balance Studios

Thursday, September 9th, 2004

Welcome to our newest communication resource! Here at Balance Studios we’re persistently striving to keep in tune with our community; with our clients; with our industry; with our world. It is in this mindset that we present to you …
the Balance Web Log (“Blog”).

Whereas an official storefront Web site is often updated only sporadically, blogs with their informal presentation and conversational nature are more accessible and more immediate; more current; more interesting; more fun.

In the days-weeks-months-years-and-decades to come, it’s our vision and our hope that this blog will endure as a meeting point for a diverse community of worldwide folk with common interests. We’ll do our best to present interesting content and we look forward to receiving comments, questions, discussion, and feedback from you. — Set your bookmarks and visit again soon!
